I love the color palettes from Porter House Design.  I've decided on two Christmas trees next year.  Too much fun decorating!

Must Have Color of 2012 Is...

Drum roll please.... Tangerine Tango!

Image Via Olive Coco Magazine

"The 2011 color of the year, Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor," writes Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward."
Pantone makes the announcement every year and (literally) sets the tone for the year's design color schemes from wall paint to bridesmaid dresses.

"Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it," writes Eiseman. "Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy."

Let the tango begin.

Fashion Friday... Spring/Summer Color Trends 2012

TRENDS IN COLORS & TEXTURES

A season of more eclectic, open styles.
Colors play on contrasts and paradoxes to surprise us and can be mixed without restraint:
- Subdued tones for reassuring elegance
- Natural, restful colors
- Exuberant, vivid flashes for fun and festivities
- Diaphanous colors for new romanticism with an eye on the future
A season with very subtle changes in textures and effects.
The beautiful classics play at innovation.
Surface effects and finishes are inspired by nature, but an idealized nature.
Technical materials go sophisticated and romantic.
Textures and materials fuse to create vibrating effect.

Featured Wedding... Emily & Mike

I'm so excited to have Emily and Mike's wedding featured in The Best Wedding Magazine!

I had such a fun time designing their vintage birdcage-inspired wedding.  Emily was easy-going and calm throughout the whole planning process, and Mike, a talented graphic designer, created all the stationery, including handmade invitations out of paper towels!

The fantasy land carousel and sugar plum spring collection by Marc Jacob's for Louis Vuitton is a wonderful campy dream.  Marc brings back the feminine 60's style with pastel hues, peekaboo cutouts, tweeds and ostrich feathers.

Real Wedding... Jillian & Kevin, Shutters on the Beach

Jillian and Kevin tied the knot at the beautiful Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California.  To keep with Shutters beach chic ambience, they had a sea shell canopy at their ceremony, and kept their color palette clean and crisp with bright whites and Tiffany blue.

Much thanks to Michelle of Mi Belle Photographer for the beautiful photos!
