Blow Me Away... Blow Dry Bar

Dry Bar LA's Premier Blow Dry is one of my monthly pleasures!  Dry Bar provides women with quick, beautiful blowouts in a hip setting, all for an affordable price: each blowout is just $35.  No cuts, color, just great blow drys, and champagne, yum!

Their menu of blowouts features the Cosmo (big, loose curls), the Manhattan (straight and sleek), the Southern Comfort (lots of volume), and the Mai Tai (messy, beachy ringlets).  My favorite is the Mai Tai, but the Manhattan is a close runner up.

Ladies they do private parties!  What a unique place to hold your bridal shower or bachelorette party.  You can start your night with them, or make it the main event.

Dry Bar is located at 11677 San Vicente Boulevard in Los Angeles. To book an appointment, visit thedrybar.com or call 310-442-6084

Greenvelope all the Rage!

We recently learned about a green company that offers a “formal” online wedding invitation service, providing couples an alternative to expensive paper and postage.  Greenvelope's web-based platform allows couples to send customized wedding invitations to their guests via email with the click of a button.

Greenvelope is proud to acknowledge other advantages to sending electronic invitations, aside from cost and the environment.  “Our electronic invitations are far less time consuming,” he said.  The system allows the user to easily compile a guest list by uploading bulk contacts from an email server.  As invitees RSVP, the guest list will automatically update with the latest response information.  In addition, the exhausting thank you process is streamlined, because hosts have the option of personalizing an electronic thank you note for each guest.  For those not ready to make the jump to an electronic invitation, Greenvelope is currently offering a free “Save the Date” package that, also, showcases the formal animation envelope experience.

DONATIONS:
Greenvelope also gives back. For each invitation package ordered, Greenvelope donates (www.greenvelope.com/going_green.aspx) 10% of every sale to Mountains To Sound Greenway, a Seattle-based non-profit organization geared towards preserving local forests.

COUPON CODE:
Best of all, Greenvelope is offering readers of Simply Natural Events 25% off any package (www.greenvelope.com/pricing.aspx) before March 31st, 2011.  Use the coupon code “SimplyNatural” at checkout to receive your discount!

Fashion Fridays... 2011 Fashion Wedding Trends

A few trends for the upcoming year!

Lace wedding dresses

Lace will always be a timeless staple for wedding dresses, but after years of satin and tulle dominating bridal looks, this delicate, classic material is having a comeback.

1940s, 1950s & 1960s…everything!

There’s a vintage boom happening, from the engagement shoot and getaway car to the wedding dress and hairstyle. Whether you choose a retro birdcage veil or a beehive ‘do, a white dinner jacket for your groom or some vintage Mary Janes, this trend can be a full-on wedding theme or just a fun, old-style touch.

Big, textured ballgown skirts

Smooth, satiny skirts have been the over-arching trend for a while now, but 2011 will see brides adding a dose of texture to their princess-style ballgowns. Ruffles, roses, organza petals and layers of lace make for voluminous, dramatic silhouettes that will leave your guests in awe.
